What is it for?
Improves thigh appearance by eliminating skin and fat
What does it mean?
Thigh lift, or cruroplasty, is a surgical procedure that improves the aesthetics of the thigh, allowing elimination of excess skin and fat from its inner part, which can lead to discomfort in walk in more severe cases. On the other hand, it also reduces the circumference of the thigh, an effect which can be boosted by a complementary liposuction, so as not only to achieve a younger but also thinner look. The incision is located in the groin and inner thigh (vertical cruroplasty technique), although in some cases it is possible to keep the scar only in the groin area (horizontal or inguinal scar cruroplasty)
Procedure time
2h
Other procedures that can be associated
Liposuction. We do not generally recommend other associated procedures, especially abdominoplasty, because currently scientific literature points to a considerable increase in surgical risks
Type of anaesthesia
General anaesthesia
Scars
The scar is located in the groin and inner thigh (vertical cruroplasty technique), extending to the middle of the thigh or even slightly above the knee, although in some cases it is possible to keep the scar only in the groin area (horizontal or inguinal scar cruroplasty)
Hospitalization
1 to 2 days in hospital
Recovery
You can resume work at 2-3 weeks depending on your work, as long as it does not require exertion. Physical exercise resumes at 6 weeks. During this time, you should wear compression tights, specifically recommended by our team. Lymphatic drainage performed by professionals with experience in this type of procedure is a complementary technique that can be performed after 15 days
Most frequent problems and risks
You can expect some swelling and bruising in the first few days. The most common problems are seroma and minor healing problems, which are usually not very relevant, although there may sometimes appear a slight scar enlargement in these cases. Rarer are hematoma and infection, as well as excessive scarring (hypertrophic scars). One of the most fearsome complications is pulmonary thromboembolism, therefore early ambulation is important
Longevity
The procedure is definitive as long as there are no significant changes in weight
